Hazard to Real Madrid
18:13: Real Madrid are confident of signing Eden Hazard in January.
That is according to Spanish news outlet OK Diario.
They claim Real are determined to sign Hazard and reckon Chelsea won’t stand in the Belgium international’s way.
Conte ready to battle board
14:30: Antonio Conte could be in for another transfer window of negotiations with Chelsea board next month.
Conte’s summer was fraught by frustrations over transfer targets, and he says the Blues board will have the final say on his targets once again in January.
“I can give my opinion, but the last decision is with the club,” he said.
“I think that it’s right to have a meeting with the club about the transfer market in January. I stay here to work, for the transfer market you have to ask the club.”
Real mean business
13:30: Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez has drawn up a list of transfer targets.
According to Don Balon, Real are set to go after Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala.
The Spanish outlet reckon the Argentine is seen as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, and they suggest a switch could be secured for around £88m (€100m).Perez is said to be unwilling to accept Karim Benzema as Real’s central striker going forwards, and that means Mauro Icardi, of Inter Milan, and Harry Kane, of Tottenham, are also being looked at.
Real are likely to add a midfielder to their ranks too, with Kane’s club-mate Dele Alli on their radar.
A deal for the Spurs playmaker may not be to Zinedine Zidane’s taste though.
Don Balon claim the French coach has specifically requested Real sign Chelsea ace Eden Hazard to provide ammunition to their frontline.
Liverpool & Chelsea favourites to sign Lemar
12:45: Liverpool and Chelsea are neck-and-neck in the battle to sign winger Thomas Lemar, according to bookmakers Betfair.
The France midfielder, 22, turned down a move to the Premier League in August but Monaco’s Champions League failure could make a January deal possible.
Reports in France claim Chelsea and Liverpool are set to bid £70million next month, while The Sun think Antonio Conte is prepared to use Michy Batshuayi as a makeweight.
Arsenal remain in the hunt, and were given reasons to be optimistic after Lemar sent fans into a frenzy on social media after he ‘liked’ a comment suggesting he is moving to the Emirates.
Thomas Lemar next club odds: Liverpool 10/3, Chelsea 10/3, Barcelona 11/2, Arsenal 7/1, Tottenham 10/1, Paris St-Germain 16/1, Manchester City 20/1, Real Madrid 33/1.
Lemar Instagram hint
11:45: Thomas Lemar has sent Arsenal fans into a frenzy on social media after he ‘liked’ a comment suggesting he is moving to the Emirates.
Arsenal came extremely close to signing Lemar in the summer after having a bid of £90million accepted by Monaco.
But the deal fell through due to Manchester City failing to agree a deal for Alexis Sanchez, leaving Arsenal unable to complete a move for Lemar.
However, recent reports have suggested Arsenal will return with a fresh approach in the New Year and will face competition from both Chelsea and Liverpool.
With Monaco crashing out of Europe entirely, Lemar could look to fast-track his move to the Premier League.
And Chelsea were believed to be the shock frontrunners for his signature, but the Gunners have received a surprise boost in their pursuit with Lemar liking a comment on Instagram welcoming him to the club.
