There are eight new Man of the Match cards to be found in packs in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team for the next seven days.
The headliner is Lionel Messi, but there are also upgrades for Gonzalo Higuain, Edin Dzeko, Wissam Ben Yedder, Juanfran, Lucas Ocampos, Besart Berisha, and Timo Werner.
These MOTM cards are offering up some really good upgrades in places, and it elevates Messi’s dribbling up to an unbeatable 99 for the second time this year after his Team of the Year card.
Lionel Messi is the only player in the game to have 99 dribbling, which is comprised of ratings of 99 in balance, reactions, ball control, and composure. But he does have a disappointing 93 in agility.
MOTM Messi is rated at 96 overall, with 93 pace, 94 shooting, and 91 passing.
He’s joined by two of his Argentinian countrymen in the list, with Gonzalo Higuain and Lucas Ocampos.
Higuain has had two In-Form cards this season, but this is his best upgrade yet, going up to 93 overall. He’s got 84 pace, 88 dribbling, 92 shooting, 75 passing, and 80 physical.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain, and the updated Timo Werner of Leipzig
As for Ocampos, his rating has risen five point sup to 81. It’s a relatively low overall compared to some of the players on the list but his stats aren’t to be sniffed at: 83 pace, 83 dribbling, 79 shooting, and 80 passing.
AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko rises to 87 overall, although his low pace of 67 and two-star skill moves won’t be favoured by many Ultimate Team players. 88 in shooting probably won’t be enough to make him viable.
One player who will be very popular is Red Bull Leipzig’s Timo Werner. His MOTM card lifts him to 88 overall, with an incredible 95 pace, 91 dribbling, 89 shooting, and 76 passing.
That pace boost actually lifts him to the top 15 in the entire game, among Icons, TOTY cards, Hero cards, and In-Forms.
All of the cards here are deserved upgrades after excellent performances by each of them for their respective teams this week.
