During the third week of June, the IOHK team has shown a remarkable progress on several projects related to Cardano [ADA]. The weekly report has covered highlights on Daedalus wallet, Networking, and DevOps.

Daedalus Wallet

The “ADA redemption” updates which were mentioned in the previous weekly report has been completed by the team. This feature is currently available under the application menu.

The previously reported issue related to the Japanese characters on Linux version of Daedalus has been fixed by replacing the font used in the main user interface [UI].

In order to reduce the code complexity and increase the future enhancements, the team has decided to extract all the Inter Process Communication [IPC] logic of Daedalus between the main process and rendering process to a separate layer.

Also, the User Experience [UX] of Daedalus will be modified by implementing an option to submit forms using the “Enter key”.

Daedalus App Platform

The integration tests for app installation process and app interaction have been completely written. Currently, the team is working on writing tests for the permission system.

Additionally, they are prototyping a solution for managing app and modeling the app platform domain.

Wallet Backend

The team concentrated on some of the new wallet specifications and development such as implementing input selection. The input policies have been modified and currently allows the maximum number of inputs in order to keep the transaction size at bay.

The PR for ‘AcidState Wallet’ has been finalized and the BlockMet initialization has started.

Using new wallet types and storage, the REST [Representational State Transfer] endpoint implementation related to the old wallet has been continued.

Apart from this, some of the team members are working on error handling of the wallet and are planning to release the new updates in the next version.

The DevOps team released Cardano 1.2.1 and Daedalus 0.10.1. A new genesis block is under implementation which is suitable for Cardano testnet. The team is also supporting an exchange due to its performance issues and working on optimizing their wallet.

A team of quality analysts prepared a presentation of the overall strategy of IELE testnet. The market analysis of IELE has been completed last week. The content creation for the development work of IELE testnet is under progress.
